The 28th annual Steppin’ Out for the Dimock Center gala on Saturday November 7th, kept the standing room only audience at the Sheraton Boston Hotel on their feet all night long. The evening was headlined by the ten-time Grammy Award winning international icon, Chaka Khan who rocked the house. Boston artist Louie Bello opened the evening and the night was complete with after party music provided by the one and only DJ Spinderlla. The black-tie fundraiser raised over $750K for The Dimock Center.
The night included a very special announcement launching The Dimock Center’s Capital Campaign to rebuild their deteriorating detox facility and increase access to substance abuse recovery services.
Ken Casey of The Dropkick Murphys announced his support for the project with a $100K challenge match for the campaign through his charitable foundation The Claddagh Fund.
Karen Holmes Ward, Director of Public Affairs and Host of CityLine for WCVB was Emcee for the night, while Robert Lewis, Jr., President and founder of The BASE in Roxbury was the Fund-a-Need host.
